what is kula?
Kula (कुल) is a Sanskrit word meaning a community of the heart, a tribe of like-minded individuals who show up for one another. Our mission is to empower women to find their village across their lifespan through wellness promotion and pelvic floor therapy services that improve quality of life.
And if you're a little cheeky, you may already know that a common euphemism for your behind is a "koolie", stemming from the Italian slang il culo. When Nicolette completed her yoga teacher training in 2021 and heard the word kula for the first time, she felt the double meaning was simply too perfect to ignore. A community built around pelvic health, named for both the heart and the booty it was always going to be called Kula.
what to expect during your visits
-

initial evaluation
I like to think of the initial evaluation as a conversation. This is our opportunity to get to know each other and tune the treatment plan to your specific needs.
We move at your pace and consent is an ongoing process throughout.
The INITIAL EVALUATION may include:
- intake conversation
- habit assessment
- movement and posture evaluation
- assessment of fascial structures
- pelvic floor assessment (via internal and/or external techniques)
- actionable goal setting
-

treatment sessions
Treatment sessions are tailored to your goals and needs. Primarily, sessions will include any of the following: movement, reflection, routine planning, education on your body, practice with daily activities to promote function, and hands on manual therapy.
The purpose of hands on manual therapy techniques are to improve fascial gliding and scar mobility, increase blood flow to a certain region, and overall reduce pain.
Typical therapeutic services listed via the superbill are: therapeutic activity, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and neuromuscular re-education.
Each client will receive “homework” related to her specific treatment plan. We will review and adapt session to session, but the work between sessions is where the magic happens.
*virtual sessions are available on a case to case basis after an establishment of a treatment plan and discussion with client and therapist
Meet Nicolette
Hi, I'm Nicolette, an occupational therapist specializing in women's health and pelvic floor therapy, and I'm really glad you found me.
I earned my Master's in Occupational Therapy from The University of Scranton in 2019 and spent my early career in inpatient rehab, where I realized I wanted to do something more personal with a focus on the mind and body. I started pursuing pelvic floor continuing education and never looked back.
In 2021, I took my first pelvic floor continuing education course, and after a few months of coursework, I landed my first position in the full time pelvic floor therapy speciality. In 2024 I earned my Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC), a credential that required 2,000 hours of direct patient care before even sitting for the exam. I'm also a Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT-200), a Pregnancy and Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES). I regularly volunteer as a teaching assistant through Herman & Wallace, where most of my continuing education was completed. I also teach annually as a guest speaker at the University of Scranton.
But credentials only tell part of the story.
In 2025, I had my first child. Going through pregnancy and early motherhood myself changed me as a therapist — and as a person. I understand now in a way I couldn't before what it means to navigate your changing body, to need support, and to not always know where to find it. That experience lives in every session I hold.
My approach is patient-centered, meaning you lead your own care. We move at your pace. Consent is ongoing. And my goal is to make sure you leave every session feeling more empowered than when you walked in.
Outside of the clinic, I'm a reader, a cook, a beach person, and a mom figuring it out one day at a time — just like you.
I would love to learn more about you. Let's connect →
